New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced an extension for candidates wishing to apply for the NDA II and CDS II 2026 examinations. This decision provides a significant relief to countless young individuals preparing for government jobs, as the application deadline has been pushed to June 11, 2026, at 6 PM.
The recruitment process commenced on May 20, 2026. Candidates who have not yet submitted their applications now have this additional opportunity. Both the NDA II and CDS II exams are scheduled to take place on the same day, September 13, 2026, across various examination centers nationwide.
Total of 394 Positions Available in NDA II 2026
The National Defence Academy (NDA) II examination offers a golden opportunity for youth to become officers in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. This time, a total of 394 vacancies will be filled, including 208 for the Army, 42 for the Navy, 120 for the Air Force, and 24 for the Naval Academy.

Eligibility Criteria for NDA II
To be eligible for this examination, candidates must have completed their 12th grade. For the Army wing, passing in any subject is sufficient. However, for the Navy and Air Force wings, candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their 12th grade. The age limit for candidates is between January 1, 2008, and January 1, 2011.
451 Positions Available in CDS II 2026
This year, a total of 451 positions will be filled under the Combined Defence Services (CDS) II examination. Recruitment will take place across four major defence academies that train permanent commission officers for the country's armed forces.

Eligibility Criteria for CDS II 2026
A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required to participate in this examination. For IMA and OTA, any subject at the graduate level is acceptable. An engineering degree is necessary for the Indian Naval Academy, while candidates for the Air Force Academy must have a bachelor's degree along with Mathematics and Physics at the 10th and 12th levels. Regarding age limits, candidates must be born between July 1, 2003, and July 1, 2008.
