UPSC Recruitment Overview



UPSC Recruitment: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has initiated a recruitment campaign targeting professionals in engineering and science fields. Eligibility Criteria for Various Positions

Scientist-B (Mechanical): Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Physics or a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering. Relevant field knowledge is essential. Experience requirements include one year in testing, calibration, or metrology for M.Sc. holders, and two years for B.E./B.Tech holders.


Scientific Officer (Non-Destructive): A postgraduate degree in Physics or a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Metallurgical Engineering is required. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in an NDT laboratory or with techniques like X-ray diffraction.


Superintending Archaeological Engineer: A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is necessary, along with a minimum of eight years of experience in civil construction projects, particularly at government or heritage sites.


Assistant Professor (Civil/Surveying): Candidates must possess a First Class degree in M.E./M.Tech (Geo-informatics or Survey Technology) along with a B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.


Age Limit Criteria

Age Limits: Each position has specific age limits. For Scientist-B, the limit is 35 years with relaxations for reserved categories. Scientific Officer candidates must be 33 years old, while Archaeological Engineer candidates can be up to 40 years old (50 for candidates with disabilities). The age limit for Assistant Professor is set at 38 years, with applicable relaxations.
