UPSC Updates on Civil Services Examination
UPSC Announcement: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has put forth an additional 114 candidates from the Consolidated Reserve List for the Civil Services Examination (Main) 2024 to address the remaining vacancies.
Earlier Recommendations:
Previously, on April 22, 2025, the UPSC had announced the results of the Civil Services Examination 2024, recommending a total of 1009 candidates for various positions including IAS, IFS, IPS, and other Central Services (Group A and Group B) against 1129 available vacancies.
Reserve List Details:
The Commission had previously indicated that a Consolidated Reserve List was created, ranking candidates below the last recommended individual, in accordance with Rule 20(4) and 20(5) of the Civil Services Examination Rules, 2024. This list comprises candidates from diverse categories.
Breakdown of New Recommendations:
The latest recommendation includes 114 candidates: 94 from the General category, 5 from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 13 from Other Backward Classes (OBC), 1 from Scheduled Caste (SC), and 1 from Scheduled Tribe (ST). The Department of Personnel and Training (DoP&T) will provide further details regarding these candidates.
Provisional Candidacy:
It is important to note that the candidacy of 15 of the newly recommended candidates is provisional. Their final selection will depend on the verification of their documents and eligibility.
