UPPSC Recruitment Exam Results: No Candidates Qualified for APS Positions
UPPSC's Unprecedented Recruitment Outcome
In a surprising turn of events, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced the results of its Additional Private Secretary (APS) examination, revealing that not a single candidate met the required shorthand standards. This outcome is particularly shocking given the usual trend where at least some candidates progress to the final stages of recruitment.
For the APS Examination-2023, all 331 advertised vacancies remain unfilled as no candidates were successful. Despite a significant turnout of hopeful applicants, the results have left many in disbelief.
The recruitment process attracted considerable interest, with numerous candidates vying for the 331 positions. The initial examination took place on January 7, 2024, and results were published on March 4, 2024, indicating that 5,889 candidates had qualified for the second stage.
The second-stage examination occurred in Lucknow from June 28 to July 18, 2024, with 4,240 candidates participating. There was optimism that the selection process would advance and final results would soon be announced.
Challenges Faced by Candidates
A key aspect of this recruitment was the assessment of Hindi Shorthand and Typing skills during the second stage. Candidates were required to demonstrate a minimum speed of 80 words per minute in Hindi shorthand, with accuracy being equally important.
Unfortunately, the Commission reported that none of the candidates achieved the necessary proficiency level, which is why no one was eligible to move on to the third stage of the examination. This effectively halted the recruitment process at this point.
Implications for the 331 Vacancies
With no candidates advancing beyond the second stage, the Commission now faces a significant challenge regarding the recruitment process. According to existing regulations, if there are no qualified candidates, the vacancies cannot be filled.
As a result, the Commission has decided to carry forward the 331 posts, meaning that no appointments will be made for the time being. Future recruitment efforts may be initiated to fill these vacancies.
