Candidates gearing up for the PCS examination in Uttar Pradesh have received significant news. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially announced the notification for the PCS Preliminary Examination. Interested candidates can apply online through the UPPSC's official website. The application window will close on July 27, 2026, with a correction period available until August 3.


1. Application Fee


The application fee for the PCS Preliminary Examination varies based on the candidate's category: ₹125 for general candidates, ₹65 for SC and ST candidates, and ₹25 for those in the differently-abled category.


2. Eligibility Criteria


Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution in India. The age requirement is a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 40 years, with age relaxation applicable for candidates from reserved categories.


3. Selection Process


The selection will be based on three stages: the Preliminary Examination, the Main Examination, and an interview. The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers: Paper-1 will take place from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and Paper-2 will run from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. This examination will total 400 marks, with Paper-1 focusing on General Studies, featuring 150 multiple-choice questions, and Paper-2 dedicated to the CSAT, containing 100 questions.
