UP Special TET 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has unveiled the timeline for the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) 2026. The online application window will open on September 5, 2026, and candidates can submit their applications until October 4, 2026. Corrections to the online applications can be made until October 8, with the examination set to take place on November 3, 2026.

Sanjay Kumar Singh, the Deputy Secretary of the Selection Commission, stated that this special examination is being organized due to the implications of a Supreme Court ruling dated May 29, 2026, concerning numerous teachers, as referenced in Civil Appeal No. 1385/2025 and Review Petition Diary No. 53434/2025.

On September 2, 2026, the government issued guidelines for conducting a Special Teacher Eligibility Test aimed at teachers in primary and upper primary education, as well as special educators working with Children with Special Needs (CWSN). Following these guidelines, the Commission has published Advertisement No. 03/2026 for the Special Teacher Eligibility Test.

**Complete OTR Before Applying**

To assist candidates, the Commission has introduced a One-Time Registration (OTR) system for the Special TET. Therefore, candidates must complete their OTR prior to submitting their applications. The Commission has emphasized that applications for the Special TET can only be made after the OTR process is finalized.
