Both male and female applicants are encouraged to apply for various roles, including positions in Civil Police, PAC, Women's Battalion, and Mounted Police Unit.


Selection Process for UP Police Constable Recruitment 2026

The selection process for the UP Police Constable recruitment consists of five key stages. Here’s a breakdown of each step:



  1. Application Process: Interested candidates must submit their applications by January 30, 2026.


  2. Physical Test and Document Verification: Candidates will undergo a physical test, and their documents will be verified.


  3. Written Examination: Those who pass the initial stages will be invited to take the written exam.


  4. Physical Test: Candidates who succeed in the written exam will then participate in a physical test.


  5. Medical Examination and Merit List: A merit list will be created based on the results of the written and physical tests, followed by a medical examination for those on the list.



Physical Requirements for Candidates

Male Candidates: Physical fitness will be evaluated based on height and chest measurements. For General and OBC candidates, the required height is 168 cm, with chest measurements of 79 cm (unexpanded) and 84 cm (expanded). SC candidates must have a height of 160 cm and chest measurements of 77 cm (unexpanded) and 82 cm (expanded).


Female Candidates: The physical parameters for female candidates will be assessed based on height and weight. General and OBC female candidates must be at least 153 cm tall, while SC female candidates must be 147 cm tall and weigh a minimum of 40 kg.


Written Examination Details

The written examination for UP Police Constable Recruitment 2026 will be conducted for a total of 300 marks. This 2-hour exam will consist of 150 questions, each worth 2 marks. Notably, there will be no negative marking. The syllabus for the exam includes:

  • Numerical and Mental Ability

Physical Test Requirements

Physical tests will vary for male and female candidates:



  • Male Candidates: Must complete a 4.8 km run in 25 minutes.


  • Female Candidates: Must complete a 2.4 km run in 14 minutes.
