The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has unveiled the recruitment notification for the State Civil/Upper Subordinate Services Examination 2026. This initiative aims to fill 67 Group B positions across various state departments.

The online application process commenced on September 9, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the Commission’s website until 11:59 PM on September 29, 2026. Majority of Posts for DSP

As per the UKPSC notification, the highest number of vacancies—14—are allocated for the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) role. There are 10 positions for Deputy Collector, 8 for Assistant Director/Audit Officer, and 5 each for Block Development Officer and Assistant Divisional Transport Officer. Additional vacancies include 4 posts for Finance Officer/Treasury Officer, 4 for Assistant Director/Deputy Secretary in the Sanskrit Education Department, and 2 each for District Commandant (Home Guards) and Assistant Director (Factories/Boilers). Single posts are available for various roles including Assistant Commissioner (State Tax) and Horticulture Development Officer (Category 2). The recruitment also features 5 posts for State Tax Officer and 3 for Case Worker in the Women’s Welfare Department.

Category-wise Distribution of Posts

Among the 67 positions, 37 are reserved for the General category, 13 for Scheduled Castes, 11 for Other Backward Classes, and 6 for the Economically Weaker Section. Horizontal reservations will also be applicable for women from Uttarakhand and activists of the statehood movement.

Salary Structure for Positions

Most roles in this recruitment fall under Level 10, offering a salary range of ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500. The State Tax Officer position is categorized under Level 7, with salaries ranging from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400. The Case Worker role is set at Level 6, with a salary between ₹35,400 and ₹1,12,400.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess a graduation degree from a recognized university for most positions, although specific qualifications apply to certain roles. For instance, a degree in Commerce is required for the Assistant Director/Audit Officer position, while post-graduation is necessary for Deputy Education Officer, Staff Officer, and Law Officer roles. For the Assistant Labour Commissioner position, a degree in Economics, Sociology, or Commerce is essential. The Sanskrit Education Department requires a post-graduate degree in Sanskrit or a B.Ed. qualification. Additionally, a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is mandatory for the Assistant Director (Factories/Boilers) role, and a degree in Horticulture or Agriculture is needed for the Horticulture Development Officer position. The Case Worker role requires a post-graduate degree in Sociology, Applied Sociology, or Social Work.

Selection Process Overview

The application window for UKPSC recruitment is open from September 9 to September 29, with a correction window available from October 7 to October 16. The selection process will consist of multiple stages, including a preliminary examination, a written examination, an interview, a medical examination, and document verification. The preliminary exam will cover General Studies and General Aptitude, while the main examination will include papers on General Hindi, Essay Writing, and various General Studies subjects.
