UGC's Alert on Fraudulent Institutions



The University Grants Commission (UGC) has unveiled a list of fraudulent universities, cautioning students and parents about the risks of enrolling in these institutions. A specific warning has been issued regarding the Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management located in Bhiwadi, Alwar district, Rajasthan, which has been identified as a fake university.


UGC's Strong Warning

The UGC has emphasized that this institution lacks recognition under Sections 2(f) and 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, meaning it is unauthorized to confer degrees. Any degrees awarded by this institute will be deemed invalid and will not be accepted for further education or government job applications. The UGC urges students, parents, and the public to avoid such self-proclaimed institutions.


Previous Alerts Issued

Earlier in February 2026, the UGC had already flagged this institute as fraudulent. This renewed warning aims to prevent students from mistakenly applying to this institution. The UGC, under the Union Ministry of Education, regularly publishes lists to inform the public about such institutions.
