UGC Announcement: Exciting news has emerged in the education sector as the University Grants Commission (UGC) has reached out to universities and colleges. They are encouraged to promptly identify professors and senior educators with a minimum of eight years of experience and submit their names to the National Mission for Mentoring.
Role of Selected Professors
Mentorship for School Teachers:
These chosen professors will serve as mentors for countless school teachers nationwide. The entire process will be facilitated through a dedicated online portal managed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Professors will engage with teachers individually, conduct group sessions, address daily challenges, and introduce innovative teaching methods. This initiative aligns with the New Education Policy (NEP 2020), which emphasizes the necessity of robust support for school teachers to enhance student learning outcomes.
Skills to be Taught to School Teachers
Modern Teaching Techniques:
School teachers will acquire essential contemporary skills, including in-depth subject teaching, understanding-based instruction rather than rote learning, effective reading and writing strategies for early grades, and appropriate use of technology in classrooms.
