An Inspiring Journey

The remarkable journey of Nasin Kumar Nishant, a young SDM from Bihar, is filled with challenges. According to media reports, he was born on April 13, 1996, in Pupuri. His father, Mahendra, is a lawyer, while his mother, Manju Kumari, was a teacher. Nasin completed his schooling from DAV School in Pupuri, Sitamarhi, from sixth to tenth grade, where he excelled as a topper. He later finished his 12th grade at a school in Darbhanga and secured admission to IIT BHU.

Facing Major Responsibilities After Losing His Mother

Nasin's life took a difficult turn when he lost his mother at the age of 20. This tragic event deeply affected him, creating a somber atmosphere at home while he also faced criticism regarding his ambitions. Following his mother's passing, the weight of family responsibilities fell on his shoulders. Nevertheless, he managed to stay focused on his studies and goals.

Arriving in Kota with Just ₹35,000

Nasin's struggles extended beyond family issues. Reports indicate that he was accepted into NIT but aspired to earn a degree in Mining Engineering from IIT. This ambition led him to Kota. With his family's financial situation being precarious, he was given only ₹35,000, while the coaching fees alone amounted to ₹76,000, excluding living expenses. This posed a significant challenge for him to continue his education.

Requesting Fee Relief and Making History

In a bid to alleviate his financial burden, Nasin humbly approached the coaching center's director, explaining his situation and highlighting his status as a tenth-grade topper with the potential to pass the IIT entrance exam. The director agreed to a test after a month, stating that if he scored 200 marks, he could receive a reduced fee. Nasin exceeded expectations by scoring 211 marks, allowing him to attend coaching at a nominal fee. After completing his engineering at IIT BHU, he left a corporate job to prepare for the BPSC.

Achieving 140th Rank in His First Attempt

In June 2021, the Bihar Public Service Commission announced the results of the 64th Bihar Administrative Service Examination. Nasin Kumar Nishant achieved an impressive 140th rank in his very first attempt. At just 22 years old, he reached the milestone of becoming an SDM, earning a place among the youngest SDMs in Bihar. His story exemplifies how strong determination can overcome financial hardships, family obligations, and societal criticism.
