The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has opened applications for 2,536 Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) positions aimed at individuals who have completed their Class 12 education. The online application window commenced on September 7, 2026, and candidates have until October 7 to apply.


It is crucial for all applicants to finalize their submissions ahead of the deadline, as no extensions will be granted.


Salary Structure

Selected candidates for the Lower Division Clerk and Junior Secretariat Assistant roles will earn a monthly salary between ₹19,900 and ₹63,200. Data Entry Operators can expect a salary ranging from ₹29,200 to ₹92,300, while those appointed as Data Entry Operator Grade-A will receive between ₹25,500 and ₹81,100.


Age Requirements

The age of candidates will be calculated as of August 1, 2026. Applicants must be aged between 18 and 27 years. Relaxations in age limits are available for reserved categories: 5 years for SC and ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 10 years for persons with disabilities (PwD).

The selection of candidates will be based on their performance in Tier-1 and Tier-2 examinations. The Tier-1 exam consists of 100 questions totaling 200 marks, covering subjects such as English, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. The exam duration is one hour, with a penalty of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer.
