All positions are classified under Pay Level-6, with a salary range of ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Applicants must be Indian citizens. Citizens of Nepal or Bhutan may also apply but need to obtain a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.

Age Limit: Age will be calculated as of August 1, 2026.

• For Sub-Inspector positions in Delhi Police and CAPFs: Age must be between 20 and 25 years (born between August 2, 2001, and August 1, 2006).


• For Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF: Age limit is 18 to 30 years (born between August 2, 1996, and August 1, 2008).


• Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.

Educational Qualifications Required

Applicants for general Sub-Inspector posts must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline, which should be completed by September 30, 2026.

For the Sub-Inspector (Fire) position in CISF, candidates must have a B.Sc. degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, or a relevant three-year engineering diploma.

Selection Process

The selection will occur in four stages:

• Paper-1: Computer-based examination


• Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)


• Paper-2: Computer-based examination


• Medical examination and document verification

Physical Test Requirements

After the written examination, candidates must pass a physical standard and efficiency test, which is qualifying but mandatory for progression.

Minimum height requirements are:

• Male candidates: 170 cm (general), 165 cm (hilly regions), lower for special categories.


• Female candidates: 157 cm.

Physical Efficiency Test activities include:

• Male: 100-meter race, 1.6-kilometer race, long jump, high jump, shot put.


• Female: 100-meter race, 800-meter race, long jump, high jump.

Performance standards for the physical test are:

Three attempts are allowed for long jump, high jump, and shot put.
