The South Eastern Railway has announced the opening of online applications for 54 positions aimed at athletes across various sports disciplines. The application period will start on October 31, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill both educational qualifications and specific sports recruitment criteria relevant to the level they are applying for. Those currently taking their final exams or awaiting results are not eligible. Educational requirements include:



  • For Group C (Levels 4 and 5): A graduation degree from a recognized university.


  • For other Group C positions: Completion of 12th grade or a 10th-grade qualification along with an ITI certificate.


  • For Group D (Level 1): Completion of 10th grade or an ITI qualification (or equivalent National Apprenticeship Certificate from NCVT).



Age Limit

Candidates must be aged between 18 and 25 years as of January 1, 2027. This means applicants should have been born between January 2, 2002, and January 1, 2009. Proof of age can be provided through a 10th-grade mark sheet or a birth certificate.


Application Fee Structure

The application fee is set at ₹500 for male candidates from General and OBC categories. For SC, ST, female candidates, PwD individuals, ex-servicemen, and other specified groups, the fee is ₹250. A partial refund will be issued to candidates who attend the selection trials: ₹400 for General and OBC candidates, and ₹250 for SC, ST, and other categories. It's important to note that there are no reserved positions for SC, ST, OBC, or EWS communities; selections will be merit-based.


Required Sports Achievements

As this recruitment is under the sports quota, candidates must hold valid sports achievement certificates. Achievements must have been obtained on or after April 1, 2024. Specific requirements include:



  • For Levels 4 and 5: Representing the country in the Olympics or winning medals in recognized international competitions.


  • For Levels 2 and 3: Participation in international competitions or success in National Championships, National Games, or Inter-University Championships.


  • For Level 1: Participation in designated international or national-level competitions.
