Significant Updates to NEET, JEE, and CUET Exam Center Selection Process

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to implement significant changes to the NEET, JEE, and CUET exam center selection process. Candidates will no longer choose their exam city; instead, allocations will be based on the address on their Aadhaar cards. This shift aims to streamline the process and ensure candidates are assigned centers closer to their homes. The changes are expected to take effect starting with the JEE Session 1 in January. Stay informed about these important updates to better prepare for your exams.

Upcoming Changes in Exam Center Selection

Major revisions are on the horizon for the NEET, JEE, and CUET entrance examinations. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is planning to modify the exam pattern and amend several rules to enhance candidate convenience. A significant proposed change involves the allocation of exam center cities based on the address listed on candidates' Aadhaar cards, eliminating the option for candidates to select their preferred exam city.

Let's delve into the existing process for selecting exam cities for NEET, JEE, and CUET, and examine the proposed modifications.

Current Exam City Selection Process

Previously, candidates had the flexibility to choose their exam city during the registration process for NEET, CUET, and JEE. They were required to select four cities in order of preference, and the allocation was made accordingly.

New Allocation Based on Aadhaar Card Address

Under the new system, exam cities will be assigned based on the address provided on candidates' Aadhaar cards. The NTA aims to allocate exam centers that are closer to candidates' residences. Although no official announcement has been made yet, recent instructions regarding Aadhaar card corrections for the upcoming JEE Main January session suggest that changes are imminent.

Anticipated Changes for JEE Main in January

Reports indicate that these changes may take effect starting with the JEE Session 1 in January. The NTA is actively preparing for this transition. The JEE Main is conducted biannually, and only those who pass the Main exam are eligible to take the Advanced exam.
