Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary exam for the SBI PO position will take place in July and August 2025. Admit cards will be available in the third or fourth week of July. Candidates must bring their admit card and a photo ID to the exam. The test will consist of 100 questions, with a total duration of one hour and negative marking for incorrect answers.

Phase-II: Main Examination

The results of the Preliminary exam will be announced in August or September 2025, with ten times the number of candidates qualifying for the Main exam. The Main exam will be conducted in September 2025, with admit cards issued at the end of August or early September.

The Main exam will consist of two parts: an Objective Test with 170 questions worth 200 marks and a Descriptive Test with three questions worth 50 marks, to be completed in 30 minutes.

Descriptive Test (30 minutes – 50 Marks): Communication Skills: Emails, Reports, Situation Analysis & Precise Writing.

Phase-III: Psychometric Test, Group Exercise & Interview

The results of the Main exam will be released in September or October 2025, with three times the number of candidates qualifying for the final phase. The Psychometric Test, Interview, and Group Exercise will take place in October or November 2025, with the Group Exercise worth 20 marks and the Interview worth 30 marks. The final merit list will weigh 75% for the Main exam and 25% for the Group Exercise and Interview.
