Exciting Opportunity for Youth in Rural Development



Great news for young individuals eager to make a difference in rural India! The SBI Foundation has initiated the registration process for the 14th cohort of the Youth for India Fellowship. This program offers motivated and educated youth a chance to engage in development projects across villages. Selected participants will collaborate with NGOs in various states, focusing on sectors such as education, health, livelihoods, and women's empowerment. The fellowship not only enhances social experience but also fosters leadership skills and a deep understanding of grassroots issues. Interested candidates can apply online, adhering to the specified eligibility criteria.


Fellowship Duration and Structure

The fellowship spans 13 months and is a full-time commitment. Chosen fellows will be placed in rural settings, where they will work alongside seasoned NGOs on development initiatives. This experience aims to equip them with insights into grassroots challenges and collaborative solutions.


Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:


1. Must be an Indian citizen, with OCI, Nepal, and Bhutanese citizens also eligible.


2. Age should be between 21 and 32 years.


3. A graduate degree from a recognized university is mandatory, with completion by October 1, 2026.


Key Areas of Work During the Fellowship

Fellows will have the chance to engage in around 12 significant areas, including:


1. Education


2. Health


3. Environment


4. Rural Entrepreneurship


5. Livelihoods


6. Women's Empowerment


This hands-on experience will be invaluable for understanding societal and developmental dynamics.


Financial Support and Benefits

Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of ₹16,000 to cover accommodation and daily expenses.


Additionally, they will be granted ₹2,000 per month for travel and local transport.


A further ₹2,000 monthly will support project-related activities.


Moreover, ₹1,000 per month will be allocated for professional training and skill enhancement.


Language assistance will also be provided as needed during the project.


Upon successful completion of the fellowship, a one-time termination allowance of ₹110,000 will be awarded.


Selection Process Overview

The selection will occur in three phases:


1. Online registration and assessment


2. Interviews for shortlisted candidates


3. Release of the final selection list
