SBI Clerk Notification 2026: The State Bank of India has released a recruitment notice for 9,766 Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) positions, which includes 7,680 regular roles and 2,086 backlog vacancies. This presents an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for government jobs in the banking sector. The online application process commenced on August 11 and will close on August 31.


Eligibility Criteria

This recruitment drive is open to candidates from all backgrounds, including General, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST categories. Applicants must be between 20 and 28 years old as of April 1, 2026. Interested candidates can apply through the official SBI website.


Educational Qualifications:


Candidates should possess a graduation degree in any field from a recognized institution. Final-year students can also apply, provided they obtain their degree by December 31, 2026.


Age relaxation is available for reserved categories: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, and additional relaxations for PwBD, ex-servicemen, and other categories as per government regulations.


Current SBI Clerks are not eligible to apply, nor are those who have previously resigned from their Clerk positions.

Candidates may apply for only one state or Union Territory. Proficiency in the local language of the state for which they are applying is mandatory.


Selection Process

Following this, selected individuals must complete a local language test specific to their state or Union Territory. The final selection will depend on the results of the local language test, and marks from the preliminary exam will not be included in the merit list; only the main examination scores will determine the final merit list.
