SBI Clerk Recruitment Announcement



The State Bank of India (SBI) has officially opened the application process for 1,538 Clerk positions starting today, August 7, 2026. Interested candidates can submit their applications online through the SBI's official website. The last date to apply for these vacancies is August 27, 2026.


Eligibility Criteria

Age Requirements


To be eligible for the Clerk positions, applicants must be between 20 and 28 years old as of April 1, 2026. Age relaxations are available: OBC candidates can receive a 3-year extension, SC and ST candidates are eligible for a 5-year extension, and candidates with disabilities can receive a 10-year extension. Additionally, a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution in India is required.


Selection Process

Examination Details


The selection will involve two stages: a Preliminary Examination followed by a Main Examination. The Preliminary Exam will consist of 100 questions totaling 100 marks, focusing on English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning, with a duration of one hour. There will be negative marking, deducting one-fourth of a mark for each incorrect answer. Candidates who qualify will then proceed to the Main Examination, which includes 190 questions worth 200 marks, covering General and Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and Computer Aptitude.

Fee Structure


Candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹750 if they belong to the OBC category. However, those from SC, ST, and PwD categories are exempt from this fee.
