Great news for youth aspiring for government roles in the railway sector! The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has launched the application process for 3,993 vacancies for Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS). Eligible candidates can start applying online from August 14, 2026, with the application window closing on September 13, 2026. It's important to note that applicants must choose only one RRB zone; applying to multiple zones could lead to the cancellation of all applications.


**Application Deadline: September 13**


The online application for the RRB JE recruitment commenced on August 14 and will remain open until September 13. The last date to pay the application fee is September 15. If candidates need to make any corrections to their application, a correction window will be available from September 16 to 25, with a revised fee of ₹250 applicable.


To qualify for the JE position, candidates must possess a three-year diploma or a B.E./B.Tech degree in a relevant engineering field. For the DMS role, a three-year diploma or degree in any engineering discipline is required. The age limit for applicants is between 18 and 33 years, with age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates.


**Exam Structure: CBT-I Details**


The selection process includes CBT-I, CBT-II, document verification, and a medical examination. CBT-I serves as a screening test, and its scores will not contribute to the final merit list. This test will feature 100 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 90 minutes, covering 30 questions in Mathematics, 25 in Reasoning, 15 in General Awareness, and 30 in General Science. A penalty of one-third of a mark will be imposed for each incorrect answer.


For CBT-I, candidates must achieve a minimum of 40% marks for UR/EWS, 30% for OBC-NCL and SC candidates, and 25% for ST candidates. Based on CBT-I results, 15 times the number of vacancies for each RRB will be shortlisted for CBT-II, followed by document verification and a medical examination based on merit.
