RRB Group D Recruitment Update: Court Verdict Opens Doors for 10th Pass Candidates
Significant Update on RRB Group D Recruitment
A crucial development has emerged regarding the RRB Group D recruitment process. The court has delivered a ruling that paves the way for the examination to proceed. The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has determined that candidates who have completed their 10th grade are now eligible to participate in this recruitment exam.
Background of the Case
The eligibility criteria for the RRB Group D Recruitment 2025 underwent modifications. Initially, candidates were required to have completed both 10th grade and an ITI course. However, this was later revised to allow candidates with just a 10th-grade education or an ITI qualification. A legal petition was filed challenging this change, arguing that eligibility criteria should not be altered after the initial notification. The court, however, dismissed this petition, affirming that 10th-pass candidates are indeed eligible for the exam.
Potential Changes to Exam Dates
It is important to note that the RRB had planned to conduct the CBT exam for this recruitment from November 17 to the end of December 2025. City slips for candidates were expected to be released on November 7 or 8, with admit cards issued four days prior to the exam. However, due to the absence of city slips, it is unlikely that the exam will commence as scheduled. Therefore, adjustments to the exam dates may be necessary, although the department has yet to finalize any new dates. Updates will be provided as soon as they become available.
Exam Details and Structure
This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 32,438 positions. The selection process will involve a written examination followed by a physical test. The CBT exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions, divided as follows: 30 questions from Mathematics, 30 from General Intelligence and Reasoning, 25 from General Science, and 15 from General Awareness. Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the exam.
For each correct answer, candidates will earn one mark, while one-third of a mark will be deducted for incorrect answers. Unanswered questions will not be scored. For further information regarding the recruitment, candidates are encouraged to visit the official website.
Physical Test Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who achieve the required cutoff marks in the CBT exam will qualify for the physical test. Male candidates must complete a 100-meter distance in 2 minutes while carrying a weight of 35 kilograms, and they must also run 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds.
Female candidates are required to complete the 100-meter distance in 2 minutes while carrying 20 kilograms, and they must run 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds. Each candidate will have only one opportunity to pass the physical efficiency test.
