Important Update for Railway Job Aspirants



Graduates aiming for government positions in the Railways have a significant opportunity as the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued a preliminary notification for filling 3,477 vacancies under the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Graduate Level. This recruitment will be conducted under CEN 06/2026, with the application window opening on October 8, 2026, and closing at 11:59 PM on November 6, 2026. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official website.


Available Positions

The recruitment will cover various roles, including:


1. Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor


2. Station Master


3. Goods Train Manager


4. Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist


5. Senior Clerk-cum-Typist


6. Traffic Assistant


Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess a graduation degree from a recognized university. The age requirement is between 18 and 33 years. There are relaxations in the age limit: a 5-year extension for SC and ST candidates, and a 3-year extension for OBC candidates.


Selection Process: CBT-1 and CBT-2

The selection will involve two Computer-Based Tests (CBT):


1. **CBT-1**: 100 questions in 90 minutes, covering:


- 40 questions on General Awareness


- 30 questions on Mathematics


- 30 questions on General Intelligence and Reasoning


2. **CBT-2**: 120 questions, including:


- 50 questions on General Awareness


- 35 questions on Mathematics


- 35 questions on Reasoning


Note: There will be negative marking of one-third of a mark for incorrect answers in both tests.


Skill Tests for Specific Roles

Certain positions will require additional testing:


1. A Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for Station Master and Traffic Assistant roles.


2. A Computer-Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) for Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist and Senior Clerk-cum-Typist positions.


Following these tests, candidates will undergo document verification and a medical examination.


Application Fees and Upcoming Recruitment

The application fee is ₹500 for the General category, with ₹400 refunded upon attending CBT-1. For SC, ST, female, EBC, and PwD candidates, the fee is ₹250, refundable upon exam attendance.


Additionally, there are plans to recruit around 30,000 Level-1 (Group D) positions in the Railways, with notifications expected in September-October. These roles may include Track Maintainer, Pointsman, Assistant (Signal & Telecom), and Assistant (Loco Shed).
