Rajasthan Teacher Recruitment Overview



For those aspiring to teach in Rajasthan's government schools, an important announcement has been made. The recruitment drive for second-grade teachers is set to fill 6,500 vacancies. Today marks the final day to submit applications for this opportunity.


Exam Date and Recruitment Details

The recruitment initiative aims to appoint 6,500 Senior Teachers (TGT) across ten subjects within the Secondary Education Department. This is recognized as the most significant recruitment effort of 2025, with applications opening on August 19th. The examination is scheduled for July 2026.


Age Limit and Relaxation

As per the guidelines from the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), candidates applying for subjects such as Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Urdu, and Punjabi must be between 18 and 40 years old. Notably, there is no age relaxation for these subjects.


However, candidates applying for Sindhi and Gujarati subjects will receive an additional three years of age relaxation. This decision comes after a long gap since the last recruitment for these subjects, which only had ten positions available in 2013.


New Eligibility Rules

On August 14th, the RPSC updated the eligibility criteria for this recruitment. Applicants are encouraged to review these new regulations thoroughly before proceeding with their applications.


Educational Qualifications Required

The educational requirements differ based on the subject taught. For science teachers, a bachelor's degree with any two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, along with a B.Ed. degree, is necessary. For social science teachers, a bachelor's degree with any two subjects from History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Public Administration, and Philosophy, along with a B.Ed. degree, is also required.

  • General, Backward Class (Creamy Layer), Extremely Backward Class (Creamy Layer): ₹600


  • Reserved Categories (Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Extremely Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer)/Economically Weaker Section/Sahariya Primitive Tribe) and Persons with Disabilities: ₹400
