Application Deadline Extended



The Rajasthan Department of Local Self-Government has announced an extension for the application deadline concerning the recruitment of sanitation workers for 2026. Candidates now have until October 13, 2026, to submit their applications online, an extension from the previous deadline of September 28.


Details of the Recruitment Drive

This recruitment initiative aims to fill 24,752 contractual sanitation worker positions across 183 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Rajasthan. The official notification (No. 01/2026) was published on July 27, 2026, with the application process commencing on August 15.


Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply?


There are no specific educational requirements for the sanitation worker roles. However, applicants must be residents of Rajasthan and should have at least one year of experience in sanitation work within an Urban Local Body. The age limit for applicants is between 21 and 40 years, calculated as of January 1, 2027. Age relaxation will be applicable for candidates from reserved categories. Applicants can choose only one Urban Local Body for their application.


Selection Process

Lottery-Based Selection


The selection of candidates for the sanitation worker positions will be conducted through a lottery system instead of a traditional written exam. A software system developed by the Department of Information Technology and Communication will facilitate this process. Candidates with prior experience in sanitation work within the Urban Local Body they applied for will be given priority. The selection will also involve verification of applications, medical fitness assessments, and police checks.

The application fees differ based on the category. For the General category, the fee is ₹600, while candidates from EWS, OBC, MBC, SC, ST, and PwD categories are required to pay ₹400. Those who have already paid the One Time Registration (OTR) fee during a previous recruitment in Rajasthan are exempt from paying it again.

2. Log in using your SSO ID and password.


3. Go to the 'Citizen App' section and select the 'Recruitment Portal'.


4. Click on the 'Safai Karamchari Recruitment 2026' link.


5. Complete the OTR process if necessary and fill in your personal details.


6. Upload a recent photograph and signature as required.


7. After submitting the application, review all information carefully and download the form.
