Railway Group D Recruitment 2026: The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) in Prayagraj recently conducted the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for RRB Group D positions at the DSA Ground from July 25 to July 28. This assessment was aimed at filling roles such as Assistant, Pointsman, and Track Maintainer-IV, with July 31 set aside as a reserve day for the examination. A total of 3,736 candidates were invited to participate, including 3,511 males and 225 females, but only 2,654 candidates showed up for the test.


Results of the Physical Efficiency Test

1,032 Candidates Did Not Pass the PET
Out of those who participated, 1,619 candidates successfully passed the physical test, while 1,032 did not qualify. This resulted in a success rate of 61.00% and a failure rate of 38.88%.

What is the PET Exam?
The Physical Efficiency Test is a vital component of the recruitment process, where candidates must demonstrate their physical abilities according to specific standards.


For male candidates, the requirements include completing a 1,000-meter run in 4 minutes and 15 seconds, along with carrying a weight of 35 kg over a distance of 100 meters within 2 minutes in one attempt.


Female candidates must finish the 1,000-meter run within 5 minutes and 40 seconds and carry a weight of 20 kg to cover 100 meters in the same time frame.


Meeting these criteria is essential for advancing to the next recruitment phase.


Recruitment Process and Verification

At the testing venue, the railway administration first verifies candidates for the PET, followed by biometric checks, Aadhaar authentication, and RFID registration. Candidates receive detailed instructions regarding the running distance, time limits, and weight-carrying tasks. The North Central Railway and the Railway Recruitment Cell, Allahabad, aim to conduct the recruitment process in a fair, transparent, and efficient manner to select qualified candidates.
