The extension of the exam period comes after the initial conclusion date was set for August 21. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 22,195 positions within the Railways.

The CBT will last for 90 minutes and consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The distribution of questions will be as follows: 25 from Mathematics, 25 from General Science, 30 from General Intelligence and Reasoning, and 20 from General Awareness and Current Affairs. A penalty of one-third of a mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Scores will be normalized, and candidates numbering three times the total vacancies will be invited for the PET.
