Selection Process Overview
Written Examination Details
The selection process will commence with a computer-based written examination lasting two hours, carrying a total of 100 marks. It will feature 50 objective-type questions on General Knowledge, 20 objective-type questions in English, and a subjective section worth 30 marks. The subjective part will include an essay (around 150 words), letter writing, précis writing, and translation from Punjabi to English. Candidates must achieve at least 33% in each subject and an overall aggregate of 40% to qualify. A penalty of 0.25 marks will be imposed for incorrect answers in the objective section.
Computer Proficiency Test
Those who pass the written exam will be invited to take a computer proficiency test (CPT), which is qualifying and will not affect the final merit list. The CPT consists of two segments: a spreadsheet test worth 10 marks, to be completed in 10 minutes, requiring a minimum of 4 marks, followed by an English typing test with a required speed of 30 words per minute. After passing the CPT, candidates will undergo document verification, and the final merit list will be based solely on the written exam scores.
