The anticipated implementation of the 8th Pay Commission is set to boost the salaries of Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) in Uttar Pradesh by an estimated 20% to 35%. Currently, ANMs are classified under Level 3 of the pay scale.


Once the 8th Pay Commission is enacted, it is expected to significantly enhance the financial compensation for government employees nationwide. This adjustment aims to align salaries with inflation and evolving economic conditions, occurring approximately every decade.


Reports indicate that the salary adjustments will be substantial, particularly for ANMs in UP. The current pay structure for ANMs under Level 3 ranges from a minimum of ₹21,700 to a maximum of ₹69,100.


To elaborate, newly appointed ANMs earn around ₹21,700 monthly, while experienced professionals can reach up to ₹69,100.


The 8th Pay Commission proposes a fitment factor of 2.86, suggesting that the new basic salary for ANMs will be 2.86 times their previous earnings. Consequently, the minimum salary under Level 3 is projected to rise to approximately ₹62,062.
