Vacancy Breakdown

Out of the total 134 positions, 110 are designated for Senior Residents. The distribution of these vacancies is as follows:



  • 16 in Anesthesia


  • 2 each in Anatomy, Community Medicine, OHSC (Prosthodontics), Ophthalmology, and Pathology


  • 1 each in OHSC (Oral Surgery), OHSC (Orthodontics), Orthopedics, Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), Physical Rehabilitation Medicine, Psychiatry, Psychiatry (DDTC), Renal Transplant Surgery, Immunopathology (Neuro), Nephrology, Pharmacology, and Neuropathology


  • 3 each in Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, and Nuclear Medicine


  • 4 each in Pediatrics and Radiotherapy


  • 5 each in Medical Microbiology and Transfusion Medicine


  • 6 in Internal Medicine


  • 7 in General Surgery


  • 9 in Hospital Administration


  • 10 in Radio-diagnosis


  • 13 in Obstetrics and Gynecology



Additionally, there are 13 Senior Resident roles at the PGIMER Satellite Center, with 1 position each in various departments including Anesthesia, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, and more.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must hold relevant qualifications such as MBBS, MD/MS, or MSc/MA/MPH, along with a PhD in related fields. Additional qualifications may include an MA/MSc in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Psychology, among others.


The upper age limit for applicants is set at 45 years, with relaxations available for candidates from reserved categories.


Selection Process and Salary

The selection will involve a multi-stage process including a Computer-Based Test (CBT), interviews, and document verification. Successful candidates can expect a monthly salary ranging from ₹35,400 to ₹67,700, along with additional benefits.


The CBT is tentatively scheduled for May 22, followed by interviews and document verification on June 23.


Application Fee Structure

Candidates must pay an application fee of ₹1,500 for General/OBC/EWS categories and ₹800 for SC/ST candidates. Those in the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category are exempt from this fee.
