OPSC Announces Recruitment for Assistant Executive Engineers



The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of 758 Assistant Executive Engineers, which includes 750 positions for Civil Engineering and 8 for Mechanical Engineering.


This recruitment is aimed at filling Group-A posts within the Odisha Engineering Service Cadre. The online application window will open on October 22, 2026, and candidates will have until November 11 to submit their applications.


According to Advertisement No. 13/2026-27, the recruitment will fill a total of 758 positions, with 750 for Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) and 8 for Assistant Executive Engineer (Mechanical).


Reservation for Women

In this recruitment initiative, specific posts have been reserved for women. Out of the 750 Civil Engineering roles, 247 are allocated for female candidates, while 3 of the 8 Mechanical Engineering positions are also reserved for women. Additionally, the reservation includes 122 out of 374 General category posts, 21 out of 61 SEBC posts, 28 out of 83 SC posts, and 76 out of 232 ST posts.


Age Criteria for Applicants

Candidates must be at least 21 years old and not older than 42 years as of January 1, 2026. This means applicants should have been born between January 2, 1984, and January 1, 2005. Age relaxation is available for candidates from reserved categories, women, ex-servicemen, and individuals with disabilities, as per the applicable regulations.


Selection Process Overview

The selection for these positions will not involve a separate written exam. Instead, candidates will be evaluated based on their valid GATE scores in the relevant engineering discipline and an interview. The GATE score will carry a weightage of 90%, while the interview will account for 10%. The Commission plans to shortlist approximately double the number of candidates for the interview based on category-wise vacancies, making a valid GATE score essential for applicants.
