OPSC AAO Recruitment 2026: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has officially announced the recruitment notification for the position of Assistant Agriculture Officer (AAO) on December 31, 2025. This recruitment initiative aims to fill 118 Group-B vacancies for Assistant Agriculture Officers within the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment, including 40 positions specifically reserved for women.

Eligibility Criteria:


To qualify for the Assistant Agriculture Officer (AAO) role, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture (B.Sc. (Agri.)) or Horticulture (B.Sc. (Horticulture)) from a recognized institution. No alternative qualifications will be accepted.


Candidates must also possess proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the Odia language, meeting one of the four language requirements specified in the notification. Additionally, applicants must be Indian citizens.


Application Fee:


For the Assistant Agriculture Officer recruitment 2026, candidates from the General, OBC, and SEBC categories are required to pay an examination fee of Rs. 700, which will be refunded after they appear for both papers of the written examination. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Persons with Disabilities are exempt from this fee, and the refund policy does not apply to them.


Salary Details:


Selected individuals will be appointed as Assistant Agriculture Officers (Group-B) in Level-10, Cell-1 according to the Odisha Revised Scale of Pay (ORSP) Rules, 2017. The initial basic salary for this position is approximately Rs. 44,900 per month, aligning with the pre-revised pay scale of Rs. 9,300–34,800 (Grade Pay ₹4,600). Additionally, appointees will receive dearness allowance (DA) and other allowances as determined by the state government periodically.
