New SSC Sliding Mechanism to Optimize Job Allocations for Candidates
Introduction of the SSC Sliding Mechanism
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a new sliding mechanism aimed at efficiently allocating vacant positions to qualified candidates across various departments. This innovative approach focuses on maximizing the filling of declared vacancies through two options: 'fixed' and 'float'.
Purpose of the Sliding System
The introduction of this sliding system is designed to ensure that as many vacant positions as possible are filled during each examination cycle. This initiative aims to enhance the chances of eligible candidates being selected and to minimize the number of unfilled positions due to candidate absences.
Process of Initial Allocation
The first provisional allocation will be determined based on the preferences indicated by candidates. To finalize their selection, candidates must visit their respective Regional Director (RD) office and undergo identity verification using Aadhaar.
Understanding Fixed and Float Options
The 'fixed' option signifies that a candidate is permanently assigned to the position they have been allocated, with no possibility for upgrades. Conversely, the 'float' option allows candidates to be considered for higher-ranking positions that may become available in the future. Notably, the sliding process will occur only once per examination cycle, and there will be no waiting list.
Identifying Vacancies from Absentee Candidates
In cases where candidates are absent during the fourth stage, the vacant positions will be identified. Candidates who opted for the float option will then be reassigned to new positions based on their merit and preferences, followed by the release of a revised final result.
Timeline for Aadhaar Verification
Candidates selected in the initial stage will have around 10 days to complete their Aadhaar verification and choose between the Fix or Float options. Those who do not appear within the specified timeframe will be marked absent, and no further appeals will be entertained. This entire system is designed to be candidate-friendly, aiming to fill as many vacancies as possible.
