Overview of RPF Recruitment Changes

Railway RPF Recruitment Updates: The Indian Railways has introduced updated regulations for the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors and Constables (Executive) within the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The Ministry of Railways has released these revised guidelines, which encompass details regarding physical standards, age criteria, and examination formats.

Revised Age Limits

The newly established RPF recruitment guidelines stipulate that applicants must be aged between 18 and 23 years. This marks a change from the previous age limit of 18 to 25 years for constable roles. For Sub-Inspector positions, the age requirement is now set at 20 to 28 years.

Educational Qualifications Required

For those applying for constable roles, a minimum educational qualification of passing the 10th grade is necessary. In contrast, candidates for Sub-Inspector positions must hold a degree from a recognized university.

Updated Physical Standards

The physical standards for RPF recruitment have also been revised. The minimum height requirement has been raised from 165 cm to 170 cm. Additionally, the chest measurement must now be at least 80 cm without expansion and 85 cm with expansion.

Changes in Medical Examination Procedures

In previous recruitment cycles, medical tests were primarily conducted by RPF medical officers. However, the new guidelines state that these tests will now be carried out by medical officers from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) or Grade I government medical officers.
