NEET 2026 Re-Exam: Enhanced Security and New Measures Announced

Overview of NEET 2026 Re-Exam Preparations

NEET 2026 Re-Exam: The Central Government, along with the examination authority, is fully equipped for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination set for June 21. This time, unprecedented security protocols have been established to ensure the integrity of the examination process. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has been tasked with the secure transportation of the question papers. Additionally, a temporary ban on the Telegram app has been enforced nationwide to mitigate rumors and potential malpractice.

Key Changes and Security Measures

1. Secure Transportation of Question Papers
To safeguard against leaks, the IAF is responsible for transporting NEET question papers to 18 critical locations across India, ensuring confidentiality.

2. Nationwide Telegram App Ban
The Central Government has implemented a temporary ban on the Telegram app until June 22 to combat misinformation regarding question paper leaks and fraudulent activities. NTA Director General Abhishek Singh noted that scammers have been using AI to create fake papers and extort money from students.

3. Heightened Security at Exam Centers
All exam centers are under strict surveillance, with paramilitary forces deployed both inside and outside. Live CCTV feeds are monitored in a central control room, and vehicles transporting question papers are equipped with GPS tracking.

4. Extended Exam Duration
The exam duration has been increased from 180 minutes to 195 minutes, allowing students more time to complete their papers. The new exam timing is from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.

5. Increased Rough Work Pages
In response to student feedback, the number of rough work pages in the question booklet has been doubled from 2 to 4, with a new layout for convenience.

6. Enhanced Identity Verification
To prevent impersonation, multiple security checks will be in place, including early reporting, metal detector checks, and Aadhaar-based biometric verification.

7. High-Level Coordination Meeting
A meeting chaired by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan was held to discuss the re-examination's security measures, with strict actions promised against any irregularities.

8. Free Transportation for Students
To assist students with travel to their exam centers, several states are offering free bus rides or fare concessions for candidates presenting their NEET re-exam admit cards.

NTA’s Advisory to Students
The NTA urges students and parents to avoid unofficial sources for information. The actual question paper will not be available before 2:00 PM on June 21, and students should adhere to the guidelines on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
