NCTE Recruitment 2026: The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is seeking applications for the role of Senior Academic Consultant. This position will be filled on a contractual basis as part of the National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST) initiative. Interested candidates are invited to attend a walk-in interview on July 30, 2026.


Vacancy Details

Number of Vacancies:
As per the official announcement from NCTE, there is one vacancy for the Senior Academic Consultant role. The selected individual will be appointed for an initial duration of six months, with the possibility of extension based on institutional needs and performance.


Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

Educational Qualifications:
Candidates should hold one of the following degrees from a recognized institution:



  • Master’s degree

  • B.Ed., M.Ed., or M.A. (Education)

Experience Requirements

Mandatory Experience:
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an academic expert in areas such as research, training, educational technology, ICT, e-content development, or similar fields. This experience should be obtained from:

  • Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)

  • Statutory bodies

  • Universities

  • Other recognized educational institutions


Desirable Qualifications

Preferred Skills:
The NCTE has specified additional qualifications that are advantageous:



  • Proficient communication skills in Hindi and English

  • Knowledge of education policy development and execution

  • Experience in research, report writing, and data analysis

  • Familiarity with projects related to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of digital communication tools
