NCERT Recruitment 2026: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has initiated the online application process to recruit 117 academic staff through direct hiring. This recruitment will fill roles for Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Librarian. Interested applicants can submit their applications on the official NCERT website until February 20, 2026.


Details of the Recruitment Drive

As per advertisement number 177/2026 released by NCERT, the entire recruitment process will be conducted online. Applications submitted through any other method will not be considered.


Positions Available:
A total of 117 roles are available in this recruitment drive. Out of these, 114 positions are designated for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor, while 3 positions are allocated for Deputy Librarian and Assistant Librarian. Appointments will be made across various subjects and departments.


Posting Locations:
Selected candidates will be assigned to different NCERT campuses situated in New Delhi, Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore, and Shillong.


Eligibility Criteria and Application Fee

Eligibility and Age Limit:
Details regarding the necessary educational qualifications and experience for all positions can be found in the official notification. The age limit, retirement age, and age relaxation will adhere to the latest regulations set by the Government of India, UGC, and NCERT. Reserved categories will receive relaxation as per the applicable rules.


Application Fee:
The application fee for candidates belonging to General (UR), OBC, and EWS categories is Rs. 1000. Candidates from SC, ST, PwD, and female applicants are exempt from the application fee. Payment of the application fee can only be made online.


Selection Process and Application Steps

Selection Process:
Candidates will be chosen based on shortlisting and an interview. The final merit list will be compiled solely based on the scores obtained in the interview, following the guidelines of UGC and NCERT.
