Introduction to the Gen Z Fellowship
A remarkable chance has arisen for the youth of Mumbai to delve into the intricacies of urban administration and policy-making. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has initiated the 'Gen Z Fellowship' program aimed at motivating young individuals to engage actively in urban governance. This fellowship offers 50 positions for a duration of 12 months, with selected participants receiving a competitive monthly stipend of ₹61,500.
Learning and Experience Opportunities
Participants in this fellowship will gain firsthand experience of the BMC's functioning. They will acquire new skills, enhance their leadership qualities, and engage with influential policymakers and officials. This program provides a distinctive experience in urban development, administration, and public service. Upon successful completion, all fellows will be awarded a certificate.
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
* Youth currently enrolled in or having completed their graduation in any field are eligible to apply.
* Proficiency in Marathi (reading, writing, and speaking) is required, along with a working knowledge of Hindi and English.
* Applicants must be below 28 years of age.
* Basic computer and internet skills are necessary.
* Interested candidates can submit their applications from August 3, 2026, to August 31, 2026. The application fee is ₹500. This fellowship is an excellent pathway for young individuals aiming to establish a career in the public sector.
