Recruitment Announcement for Junior Intelligence Officer


The Ministry of Home Affairs has initiated the recruitment process for 394 Junior Intelligence Officer (JIO) Grade-II (Technical) roles within the Intelligence Bureau (IB) for the year 2025. Interested candidates can submit their applications via the official website at mha.gov.in. The deadline for application submissions is September 14, 2025.


Eligibility Criteria for IB JIO Recruitment

To be eligible for the IB JIO 2025 recruitment, candidates must meet the following criteria:



  • Educational Qualification: Candidates should hold an engineering diploma in Electronics, Electrical, IT, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized institution. Graduates in Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or those with a BCA degree are also eligible to apply.

  • Age Limit: Applicants must be aged between 18 and 27 years, with age relaxations applicable as per government regulations.


Selection Process Overview

The selection for the IB JIO Recruitment 2025 will occur in three phases:



  1. Tier-I (Online Examination): This phase will feature objective-type questions, with 25% focusing on general mental ability and 75% on relevant subjects.

  2. Tier-II (Skill Test): Candidates who pass the online exam will take a skill test worth 30 marks.

  3. Tier-III (Interview/Personality Test): The final stage will involve an interview or personality assessment, contributing 20 marks to the overall score.


The final merit list will be compiled based on the combined results from Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III.


Exam Structure and Duration

The online examination will last for 2 hours and will consist of objective-type questions, structured as follows:



  • 25% of questions will pertain to General Mental Ability.

  • 75% of questions will focus on relevant subjects related to the position.


Following the online exam, candidates will undertake a skill test (30 marks) and an interview/personality test (20 marks).


Application Fee Details

The application fees are structured as follows:



  • For Male Candidates (General, EWS, OBC): ₹100 for the examination fee and ₹550 for the recruitment process, totaling ₹650.

  • For Other Candidates: A fee of ₹550 for the recruitment process.

  • For SC/ST Candidates, Women, and Ex-Servicemen: Exempt from the ₹100 examination fee but required to pay the ₹550 recruitment process fee.


Payments can be made online through SBI e-Pay Lite.
