The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) has initiated the online application process for the recruitment of 7,500 police constables within the Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department. This recruitment drive will encompass both Special Armed Force (SAF) and Non-SAF positions.

Candidates interested in joining the police force in Madhya Pradesh can now apply online for the 7,500 Police Constable (GD) roles. The application window opened on September 22, 2026, and will remain open until October 6, 2026. The official recruitment notification was published on September 9. Additionally, a correction window will be available from September 22 to October 11, allowing applicants to amend any mistakes in their submissions.

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Minimum Educational Qualifications

To qualify for the police constable positions, candidates from the General and OBC categories must have completed at least the 10th grade. For Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates from Madhya Pradesh, the minimum educational requirement is an 8th-grade pass. Applicants must be aged between 18 and 33 years as of October 6, 2026, with age relaxations applicable for reserved category candidates.

Application Fees and Payment Details

Fee Structure

The application fee is set at ₹500 for General category candidates and those from other states. For candidates belonging to EWS, OBC, SC, ST, and PwD categories, the fee is ₹250. Additional portal fees apply: ₹60 for applications through MP Online kiosks and ₹20 for registered citizen users. All payments must be made online.

Selection Process Overview

Examination and Physical Tests

The selection process will commence with a computer-based examination worth 100 marks, followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Measurement Test, document verification, and a medical examination. The PET includes an 800-meter race, long jump, and shot put. Male candidates must complete the 800-meter run in 198.3 seconds, while female candidates have a limit of 261.8 seconds. The long jump minimum is 2.96 meters for men and 2.04 meters for women, with shot put standards set at 3.8 meters for men and 2.85 meters for women.

Physical Standards for Candidates

Height Requirements

For the Special Armed Force (SAF), the minimum height for General and OBC male candidates is 168 cm. For Gorkha, Garhwali, and Kumaon candidates, the requirement is 157 cm, while Maratha, SC, and ST candidates must meet a height of 165 cm. For other positions, the height requirement is 168 cm for UR, SC, and OBC candidates, and 160 cm for ST male candidates. Female candidates must be at least 155 cm tall. Chest measurements will also be taken as per recruitment guidelines.

Exam Date

The MPESB has scheduled the Police Constable recruitment examination to begin on November 19, 2026. To apply, candidates must first register their profiles and complete the KYC process on the official MPESB website, esb.mp.gov.in. Afterward, they should navigate to the Police Constable recruitment link to fill in their personal and educational details, including their choice of SAF or non-SAF cadre, district/unit, and preferred exam city. Candidates must upload their photograph, signature, and required documents, pay the application fee, and submit their application.
