Overview of the PM Internship Scheme 2025



PM Internship Scheme 2025: The Prime Minister's Internship Scheme 2025 was inaugurated by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. This initiative aims to offer practical work experience and job opportunities to young individuals aged between 21 and 24. A total of 1.25 lakh internships will be made available across India, facilitated by 549 prominent companies in various sectors such as oil, gas, energy, travel, hospitality, automotive, banking, and financial services.


Phase Two Launch and Application Statistics

The second phase of this initiative commenced on January 9th, attracting over 2.14 lakh applicants who submitted approximately 4.55 lakh applications. Partner companies have extended internship offers to 72,000 candidates, with more than 22,800 accepting these positions. Participants will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 along with a one-time financial aid of ₹6,000.


Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

What are the eligibility criteria?


To qualify for the internship, candidates must be unemployed, and their family's annual income should not exceed ₹8 lakh.



  • ITI: Matriculation + ITI in a relevant trade

  • Diploma: Intermediate + AICTE-recognized diploma

  • Degree: Graduation from a UGC/AICTE-recognized university
