Metro Railway Kolkata Apprentice Recruitment: The Metro Railway in Kolkata has announced the recruitment for Apprentice positions. A total of 128 Act Apprentice roles are available across four technical trades. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online via the official Metro Railway Kolkata website from December 23, 2025, until January 22, 2026.
This recruitment drive includes 128 vacancies distributed among four technical trades: 82 positions for Fitters, 28 for Electricians, 9 for Engineers, and 9 for Welders (Gas and Electric).
Application Requirements
To qualify, candidates must have completed their 10th grade with a minimum of 50% marks and possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade.
Applicants should be aged between 15 and 24 years as of January 22, 2026, and must provide documents to verify their age.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on a merit list created for each trade and community. Merit points will be calculated using a specific formula. In case of ties, older candidates will be prioritized, and if ages are the same, the candidate who completed Matriculation first will be favored.
Candidates will be invited for Document Verification (DV) based on the merit list in a ratio of 1:50 relative to the number of vacancies. The final selection will depend on the verification of original documents, medical certificates, and community certificates.
Application Fee
The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid online during the application process. The fee is set at ₹100 for candidates from General, OBC, and EWS categories, while SC, ST, Persons with Disabilities, and female candidates are exempt from this fee.
