JSSC Jail Warder Recruitment 2025: The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has announced a temporary halt to the application process for the warder recruitment exam in state prisons. Originally set to commence on Friday, the application link was not made available on the official portal. An official notification was released later in the evening, indicating that the application process has been suspended due to unavoidable circumstances.


Recruitment Overview
A total of 1,733 warder positions are being recruited for various jails across Jharkhand. The initial deadline for submitting online applications was December 8, 2025.


The application link was expected to go live on the JSSC's official website on Friday, but it remained inaccessible throughout the day. Candidates waited until the evening for updates, only to learn that the application process had been postponed.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have completed the 10th standard to apply for this role.
Pay Scale: Level-2 (Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200)
Application Fee: General Category – Rs. 100, SC/ST of Jharkhand – Rs. 50


Changes in Physical Eligibility and Test
The government has recently revised the physical test requirements. Men are now required to complete a 1600-meter race in 6 minutes, while women must finish the same distance in 10 minutes.


Height and Chest Requirements:
Men (UR/EWS/EBC): Height 160 cm, chest 81 cm (expanded)
Men (SC/ST): Height 155 cm, chest 79 cm
Women (all categories): Minimum height of 148 cm


Age Criteria:
General Category: 18 to 25 years
OBC Male: 2 years relaxation
Female Candidates (UR, EBC, EWS): 3 years relaxation
SC/ST Male and Female: 5 years relaxation


Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on a written examination (Objective Type), Physical Standards and Efficiency Test (PET/PST), and a medical examination.
