Jharkhand Vacancy: The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has revealed plans to recruit 1,733 candidates for the position of Jail Warder. The online application process is set to commence on November 7th, with the deadline for submissions being December 8th, 2025. Interested applicants can apply through the official JSSC website.


This recruitment drive will adhere to the Jharkhand Police, Jail Warder, Constable (Home Guards), and Excise Constable (Joint Constable) Recruitment Rules of 2025.


Eligibility Criteria for Jail Warder Role
To qualify for the Jail Warder position, candidates must have completed their 12th grade from a recognized educational institution. The age requirement is between 18 and 25 years, with age relaxation available for candidates from reserved categories. Additionally, candidates must successfully complete a fitness assessment.


Physical Standards for Jail Warder Applicants


Height Requirements:
Unreserved, EWS, and Extremely Backward Class Males - 160 cm
SC and ST Males - 155 cm
All Female Candidates - 148 cm


Chest Measurements:
Unreserved, EWS, and Extremely Backward Class Males - Minimum 81 cm after expansion
SC and ST Males - Minimum 79 cm after expansion


Selection Process Overview
The selection will begin with a physical standardization and efficiency test, followed by a written examination and a medical examination.
Salary:
Level 2 (₹19,900-₹63,200)
Application Fees:
SC and ST candidates from the state - ₹50
All other categories - ₹100


Simplified Physical Test Regulations
The physical test requirements for the Jail Warder recruitment have been made more straightforward. Previously, male candidates were required to run 10 km; now, they must complete 1600 meters in 6 minutes, while female candidates have 8 minutes to finish.
