Eligibility Criteria
What qualifications are needed?
For the rural Home Guard positions, candidates must have completed the 7th grade from a recognized institution. Those applying for urban Home Guard roles should have passed the 10th grade. Additionally, candidates must be permanent residents of Chatra district for both rural and urban positions.
Age Limit and Physical Requirements
Home Guard Age Limit:
Minimum age: 19 years; Maximum age: 40 years as of January 1, 2025.
Height requirements: Male candidates from the General/OBC/BC categories must be at least 162 cm tall, while those from Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste categories must be 157 cm. Female candidates should be at least 148 cm tall.
Chest measurement: Male candidates must have a chest circumference of 79 cm, with a 3 cm relaxation for reserved categories.
Physical tests include a 1-mile run, high jump, long jump, and shot put.
Selection Process: Candidates will undergo a physical examination, a written test, and a technical proficiency test for Urban Technical Skilled Home Guards only.
Physical Examination Details
How will the physical tests be conducted?
Male candidates completing the 1-mile run in 5 minutes or less will earn 20 points; those finishing in 5 to 6 minutes will receive 10 points. Candidates taking longer will be disqualified. Female candidates must also complete the 1-mile run, with those finishing in under 8 minutes receiving 20 points and those over 8 minutes getting 10 points. Points will also be awarded for high jump, long jump, and shot put.
