JKSSB Police Constable Recruitment 2026

Overview: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has published the official notification for the recruitment of Police Constables for the year 2026. This recruitment initiative includes a total of 669 positions across various Constable roles, such as Armed/IRP, SDRF, Telecommunication, and Photographer.

Application Timeline:
Eligible candidates can submit their applications online via the official JKSSB website from February 1, 2026, until March 2, 2026. Comprehensive details regarding the recruitment process and application guidelines are accessible on the commission's website.

Eligibility Requirements:
For the Constable (Armed/IRP/SDRF) roles, applicants must have completed Matriculation (10th grade) from a recognized educational institution. Candidates applying for the Constable (Telecommunication) positions should have passed the 10+2 examination with a focus on Science subjects.

For the Constable (Photographer) roles, candidates must also have completed 10+2 with Science subjects, in addition to holding a certificate for a minimum 6-month computer course and possessing 2 years of experience in videography or photography.

Examination and Testing Process:
The recruitment process will commence with a written examination featuring objective-type multiple-choice questions, where negative marking will be enforced. Candidates with NCC certificates will receive additional marks according to established guidelines. Those who perform well in the written exam (up to six times the number of available positions) will be invited to participate in the Physical Standard Test (PST), which evaluates minimum height and chest measurements.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
Candidates who pass the PST will then take part in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which includes activities such as long-distance running, push-ups, and shot put. Ex-servicemen will receive age-related relaxations in the standards. Subsequently, all original certificates will undergo verification during the document review process, followed by a medical examination to determine the candidates' physical and medical fitness.
