Overview of JAC Delhi 2026 BTech Admission

The Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) for Delhi 2026 has officially started, allowing students to apply for BTech programs at five leading engineering colleges in the capital.

This year, aspiring engineers will benefit from an increase in available seats across major institutions, along with the introduction of new courses, enhancing opportunities for admission.

Participating Colleges

The JAC Delhi 2026 will facilitate admissions to five prominent institutions, including:

  • Delhi Technological University (DTU)
  • Netaji Subhash University of Technology (NSUT)
  • Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW)
  • Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Delhi)
  • Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU)

In addition to BTech programs, select institutions will also offer B.Arch courses.

Application Timeline

Online registration for JAC Delhi 2026 commenced on May 28 and will close at 11:30 PM on June 9. Students can register by visiting the official website: jacdelhi.admissions.nic.in. After registration, candidates can choose their preferred colleges and courses while paying the necessary counseling fee. NSUT is designated as the Coordinating University for this year.

Seat Availability

This year, a total of 7,855 seats will be available for admission, comprising 7,765 for B.Tech programs and 90 for B.Arch programs. The increase in seats is due to the addition of new courses and the re-inclusion of DSEU in the admission process.

Admission Criteria

Admissions to B.Tech programs will be based on JEE Main Paper 1 scores, while B.Arch admissions will require valid scores from JEE Main Paper 2. A merit list will be created using the JEE Common Rank List (CRL), and seat allotment will occur through an online counseling process, with the first round expected to be announced by mid-June.

Advantages for Delhi Students

As in previous years, Delhi students will have a significant advantage in the admission process, with 85% of the total seats reserved for them. The remaining 15% will be available for students from other states. This arrangement aims to facilitate easier admission for local students. DSEU's return to the JAC counseling process is noteworthy, as it had previously conducted its own admissions, leaving many seats unfilled.

Available Courses

Students can apply for a variety of B.Tech and professional courses under JAC Delhi 2026. DTU and NSUT offer 18 engineering courses, while IIIT Delhi will provide admissions for 9 technology-focused programs. DSEU will have 15 B.Tech programs available, and IGDTUW will offer both B.Tech and B.Arch programs, including a unique 6-year Integrated B.Tech-MBA program.

Counseling Fee

To participate in JAC Delhi 2026, students must pay a registration and counseling fee of ₹1,500. After payment, they can select their preferred colleges and courses.
