The organization has announced openings for the positions of Scientist/Engineer. This recruitment is being conducted through the ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board, with a total of 175 vacancies available for qualified candidates. The application process commenced on August 27, 2026, and candidates can submit their applications until 11:55 PM on September 16, 2026.
Details of the Positions
This recruitment drive is open to candidates specializing in Electronics, Mechanical, and Computer Science Engineering. According to the notification, there are 99 positions for Electronics, 52 for Mechanical, and 21 for Computer Science at various ISRO centers. Additionally, three positions are available at the Physical Research Laboratory. The number of vacancies is provisional and may be adjusted based on requirements.
Eligibility Criteria for Engineering Graduates
To apply, candidates must possess a BE, BTech, or an equivalent degree in the relevant field. For the Electronics position, a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering is required, while Mechanical Engineering is necessary for the Mechanical roles, and Computer Science Engineering for the Computer Science positions. Candidates should have secured at least 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84 out of 10 in their engineering degree, which must be completed within the stipulated time frame.
Age Limit Specifications
The maximum age for candidates should be 28 years as of September 16, 2026. However, certain categories, including serving central government employees, ex-servicemen, and candidates with benchmark disabilities, may receive age relaxation as per government regulations. Salary and Benefits
Selected candidates for the Scientist/Engineer positions at ISRO will be appointed at Level 10 of the pay matrix, with a starting basic salary of ₹56,100 per month. Application Fee and Payment Method
The application fee is set at ₹250, which is non-refundable. All candidates are also required to pay an initial processing fee of ₹750. Payments can be made through the BharatKosh e-payment gateway using internet banking, UPI, or domestic debit cards. Payments via cash, checks, demand drafts, money orders, or IPOs will not be accepted. Candidates are also responsible for any applicable service charges.
Fee Waiver for Certain Candidates
Women, SC, ST, benchmark disability candidates, and ex-servicemen are exempt from the application fee. However, they must still pay the initial processing fee of ₹750. If they participate in the written or computer-based examination, this amount will be fully refunded.
