IB Recruitment 2025: The Intelligence Bureau, part of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has announced the opening of applications for 455 Security Assistant Motor Transport positions. The recruitment will fill a total of 455 positions, categorized as follows:



  • General: 219

  • OBC NCL: 90

  • SC: 51

  • ST: 49

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have completed at least the 10th grade and possess a valid LMV driving license. Additionally, a minimum of one year of driving experience is required.


Age Limit: Applicants should be aged between 18 and 27 years as of September 28, 2025. Relaxations are available: SC/ST candidates receive a 5-year extension, while OBC candidates get a 3-year extension.


Exam Structure

Tier-1 Exam: This will consist of 100 marks, with a duration of 1 hour. The exam will include five sections, each containing 20 questions covering General Awareness, Basic Transport Driving Rules, Quantitative Aptitude, Numerical Ability, Analytical Logical Ability, and English Language. Note that there will be a negative marking of 1/4 for incorrect answers.


Tier-2 Exam: This will be worth 50 marks and will focus on questions related to Motor Mechanism and Driving.


Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in both Tier-I and Tier-II exams. Following this, character and background checks, along with health tests, will be conducted. Initially, appointments will be temporary, with permanent positions granted based on government regulations and individual performance.

Fee Structure: The application fee is set at Rs 650 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates. For SC, ST, Women, and Ex-Serviceman candidates, the fee is Rs 550.
