Starting Her Journey in a Regular School
One of the biggest challenges for Sara's parents arose when her previous school suggested transferring her to a special institution. However, they insisted that she should study alongside her peers. Her father even took voluntary retirement from his government job to focus entirely on her education. The principal of Christ Church College in Lucknow recognized Sara's talent and admitted her, giving her dreams a new lease on life.
Technology as Her Eyes and Ears
Reading standard textbooks was not feasible for Sara. Her teacher, Salman Ali Qazi, introduced her to a specialized device called the 'Orbit Reader'. This device scanned textbooks and converted them into Word files, which were then translated into Braille. Sara could comprehend everything through her fingertips. After scoring 95 percent in her 10th grade, she broke her own record in 12th grade, achieving perfect scores in Geography and Mass Media, a testament to her dedication.
