Pre-Commission Training

Training Overview:
Selected candidates for TGC 145 will undergo a year-long pre-commission training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun. During this period, they will receive a monthly stipend of ₹56,400. Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will be commissioned as Lieutenants and will receive one year of ante-dated seniority for salary and promotion purposes.


Selection Process

The selection for the Technical Graduate Course begins with merit-based shortlisting, followed by a Service Selection Board (SSB) interview and a medical examination. A merit list will be compiled, and joining letters will be sent to successful candidates.


Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply?
Applicants for the Technical Graduate Course must possess a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in an engineering discipline, or a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science. Final-year engineering students who have not yet completed their examinations are also eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of passing their degree along with semester marksheets.


Age Limit

The age requirement for the Technical Graduate Course is between 20 and 27 years, calculated as of July 1, 2027. There is no age relaxation for candidates from reserved categories.


SSB Interview Process

Interview Structure:
The SSB interview for TGC lasts five days, starting with screening on the first day, followed by psychological tests on the second day, GTO tasks and interviews on the third and fourth days, and concluding with a conference on the fifth day. As TGC is a technical entry scheme, candidates should expect questions related to fundamental concepts of their engineering branch during the interview. However, the assessment will also focus on personality traits and Officer-Like Qualities (OLQs).
